Recently, AlmaLinks NYC hosted successful Israeli businessman, Igal Rotem, who presented the story of how luck played a role in the growth of his previous company, PowerDsine, which IPO’d on the Nasdaq in 2004 and was wholly acquired in 2006.
AlmaLinks is helping to ensure a stronger future for Israel by engaging the next generation of business leaders with Israel’s economy. Our recently launched “Meet Israel” program creates lasting business ties between the Israeli business community and successful young entrepreneurs in the diaspora, by introducing our members to Israeli business leaders. When our Israeli members travel abroad for business, AlmaLinks connects them with local chapters and often invites them to speak with a group of local members during their visit. As part of the program, AlmaLinks also organizes social events when Israeli young entrepreneurs are in town.
I was so impressed upon meeting the NYC AlmaLinks members. Not only did I have the chance to interact with and influence young emerging business leaders, but I was also able to make lasting connections with members who were interested in doing business in Israel.
The Meet Israel program is beneficial for everyone involved: Israeli business executives have access to young talent in the diaspora, and vice versa. Having access to the leading forces behind the Start-up Nation is a significant benefit for young AlmaLinks members – one that draws many unaffiliated Jews to our organization. While this type of access is professionally beneficial, it also serves as a way for successful young entrepreneurs from around the world to connect to the Jewish state in a way that is relevant to the most active part of their lives: business.
