Until September 1, 2016, Mr. Ramat was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Neurotrope, Inc., a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, primarily Alzheimer’s Disease. Neurotrope is now in the midst of conducting a Phase 2B clinical trial seeking to prove cognitive and behavioral efficacy for its principal compound Bryostatin-1 in moderate-severe to severe Alzheimer’s patients.
In addition, the company is advancing pre-clinical research in two orphan indications, Fragile X Disease and Niemann-Pick Disease Type C. Prior. In the finance field, Mr. Ramat, was a principal investor, director, and consultant to Continental Home Loans, a mortgage bank. Continental, which operates in 22 states, is the largest single family home mortgage originator in Long Island and the third largest FHA originator in New York State with originations of approximately $1.3 billion of loans p.a.
Prior, Mr. Ramat was the President and CEO of Kushner Companies, a privately owned diversified real estate company. The company owned and managed more than 25,000 apartment units, and a commercial portfolio in excess of 5 million square feet.
